"The Boys and the Donkey" is the debut short film by young Tibetan director Tsering Yangjyab. Set in the pastoral regions of the Tibetan Plateau, it tells the story of four children preparing to dress up as Tang Sanzang and his three disciples to embark on a journey to the “Western Paradise.” Told from a child’s perspective, this live-action short delivers a story that is both humorous and full of innocence, capturing the purity and imaginative spirit of life in the pastoral highlands.
The film "One and Four" is adapted from Tibetan writer Jamyang Tsering’s short story of the same name. It tells the story of a forest ranger on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau who, on a stormy night, is unexpectedly drawn into a life-or-death confrontation between the forest police and a group of poachers.
This screening of "The Boys and the Donkey" and "One and Four" are jointly presented by the 6th fluctoplasma Festival for diversity
in Hamburg and the German Association for Asian Art (Deutscher Verein für Asiatische Kunst e.V.).
